If you’ve ever scheduled an outdoor family session, you’ve probably had one question in the back of your mind:
“What happens if it rains?”
As photographers, we can’t control the weather—but we can absolutely make the most of it.
For this sweet sibling session, Mother Nature had other plans. Instead of rescheduling, we chose one of my favorite hidden gems: a beautiful greenhouse filled with lush greenery, gorgeous natural light, and endless texture.
And honestly?
I couldn’t imagine these photos anywhere else.
The greenhouse became the perfect backdrop for three energetic siblings who spent the entire session laughing, teasing each other, and simply being kids.

One of the things I’ve learned over the years is that flexibility often leads to the most memorable sessions.
Greenhouses are wonderful alternatives when Northeast Ohio weather doesn’t cooperate.
They offer:
Instead of worrying about umbrellas or muddy shoes, these siblings were free to explore, laugh, and enjoy being together.
And that’s exactly where the magic happens.

Of course we captured the smiling portrait everyone wants for the wall.
But some of my favorite images happened in between.
The sideways glances.
The giggles.
The inside jokes.
The little brother trying to make everyone laugh.
The big brother wrapping an arm around his siblings.
Those are the moments families remember years later.
Children don’t need to stand perfectly still to create beautiful photographs. In fact, some of the most meaningful images happen when I simply let them interact naturally.

Sibling relationships are unlike any other.
One minute they’re making silly faces.
The next they’re laughing so hard they can’t stand up.
And somehow, tucked between all of that energy, there’s so much love.
As a Cleveland family photographer, I always make time to photograph siblings together—not because parents ask for it, but because these relationships deserve to be documented.
Years from now, these photographs won’t just remind them what they looked like.
They’ll remind them what it felt like to grow up together.

When people think about family photography in Cleveland, they often picture beaches, parks, or open fields.
While I love those locations, greenhouses offer something completely different.
The vibrant plants, soft filtered light, and cozy atmosphere create a setting that feels warm, organic, and timeless. They’re also an incredible backup option if the weather decides not to cooperate.
Whether it’s sunny skies or unexpected rain, there are always beautiful places to create meaningful family portraits.
Every family has its own rhythm.
Some are quiet.
Some are playful.
Some spend the whole session laughing.
My goal is never to force perfect smiles—it’s to capture the connection that already exists.
If you’re looking for a Cleveland family photographer who embraces real moments and always has a backup plan for unpredictable Ohio weather, I’d love to photograph your family.
Because sometimes the rain leads us somewhere even more beautiful.
